TechLaw Chat is a series of short podcasts exploring emerging or topical issues in technology law, with a particular focus on AI, blockchain technology and emerging tech. Each podcast takes the form of a scenario-based conversation between Matthew Lavy and Iain Munro of 4 Pump Court (occasionally accompanied by expert guests), and explores a single issue of English law, usually structured around a fictitious case study.
Matthew Lavy is a commercial barrister with a particular interest and focus on disputes involving technology in all industrial, commercial and consumer contexts. He is regularly instructed on behalf of providers, purchasers and users of networks, computer systems, cloud services and software in relation to project failures and delays, IP licensing, copyright infringement, breach of confidence, outsourcing, contractual disputes, data protection, digital rights management, cyber liability and blockchain technologies. Matthew sits on the Lord Chief Justice’s advisory group on Artificial Intelligence and is a Trustee of the Society for Computers and Law.
Iain Munro is a commercial barrister and mediator, with specialist expertise in technology disputes from large-scale project failures to smaller skirmishes.
